Recent News and Events

First off we want to apologize to all of Chuck's fans for not having current updates available recently on the site.   We will make every effort in the future to provide news and results as soon as we get them in, so please accept our apologies for the lapse in coverage.

Chuck currently sits 5th in the NASCAR Featherlite Modified Series points chase with one win, three top-5's and five top-10 finishes as the #4 Mystic Missile team heads to Beech Ridge Motor Speedway this weekend.

The #22 DeLange Racing team, with Chuck behind the wheel, has completed four races thus far at Lancaster Motorsports Park with one win and Chuck has been a strong contender each race.  The next race for the #22 team is a rain date for this past Saturday's event on Monday July 28th, 2003 at Lancaster Motorsports Park.

Here is a more detailed breakdown of what's been happening lately....

5/18/2003 - The NASCAR Featherlite Modified Series was at Nazareth Speedway in Nazareth, PA for the Service Electric 100.  Chuck had qualified 8th for the race and was running amongst the top 10 for the majority of the race.  Several late cautions caused the race to exceed the 100 lap scheduled distance due to the Featherlite series commitment to finish the races under green flag conditions.  As a result the race was 107 laps to allow for the green/white/checkered restarts at the end of the race.  On the last restart Chuck ducked underneath another competitor prior to the start/finish line and although he did not pass the car, NASCAR deemed that he was attempting to pass before the line and therefore black-flagged him, relegating the #4 team to a 19th place finish.

5/23/2003 - The Featherlite race at Stafford Motor Speedway was rained out and postponed until the following week and was run on 5/30/2003.  Chuck battled back from a 27th place qualifying position to finish the race in 8th.

5/24/2003 - The scheduled 30-lap event at Lancaster Motorsports Park was rained out was completed on 6/2/2003.  Chuck was a contender all night and managed to take the checkers in 2nd place.

5/31/2003 - This 30-lap event at Lancaster was also rained out and combined with the Budweiser 75 event (also rain delayed) on 6/23/2003.  Chuck again showed how strong the #22 DeLange Racing modified by bringing home a 3rd place finish.

6/7/2003 - The NASCAR Featherlite Modified Series, Miller Lite 200 at Riverhead Raceway was cancelled due to rain and has not yet been rescheduled.

6/14/2003 - Finally a race beats the rain as the NASCAR Featherlite Modified Series rolled into Lake Erie Speedway for the Lake Erie 150.  Chuck started the race in 7th and nudged his way up the 4th for the finish.  Lake Erie is a new facility that was added to the series calendar for 2003.  With only being open less than a year, the track heavily favored the inside groove and made passing very difficult.  Lake Erie is an extraordinary facility though, and once the track gets worked in a little bit more, it should provide some excellent racing in the future.

6/21/2003 - Rain, rain, go away... please!!!  Yet another NASCAR Featherlite Modified Series event, the Coca-Cola 150 at Seekonk Speedway was rained out and has been postponed until October 12th, 2003.

6/29/2003 - The Busch 150, NASCAR Featherlite Modified Series event at Wall Township Speedway was held at the 1/3 mile track in Wall Township, NJ.  Chuck had qualified 4th and redrew to start on the pole, however he was tangled up in an early incident on lap 32 and was unable to rejoin the race, resulting in a 29th place finish.

7/3/2003 - The Firecracker 50 - Sunoco Race Of Champions event was held at Lancaster Motorsports Park.   Chuck drew the second starting spot and tried several times to pass the #75 Jeff Ulrich on the outside, but numerous cautions kept reverting the field back to the previously completed lap.  Ulrich went on to win with Chuck finishing 2nd and holding off a late charge by #77 Sege Fidanza.

7/5/2003 - The day started out great with Chuck in the #22 DeLange Racing modified running some fast laps in practice.  However just before the start of the heats, the skies once again opened up and poured on Lancaster causing the race to be postponed until Monday July 28th, 2003.
