August 18, 2003 Hot Shoe On Dirt? This past Saturday August 16, 2003 Chuck raced on the dirt track at Merrittville Speedway in Thorold, Ontario. He drove the #42 dirt modified which is one of Pete Bicknell's backup cars. Chuck has raced on dirt only once before a few years back, and while he may be a novice on dirt, his experience as a driver showed through as he finished a respectable 17th out of a 24 car field. In the 35 lap feature he had worked his way up through the field, passing on the outside in the traditonal Hossfeld fashion. He was running as good as 12th, but got collected up in a couple of incident's and wound up with the 17th place finish.
