April 1, 2004 2004 Season Set To Get Under Way Chuck is ready to start the 2004 season in what may be one of his busiest years yet. The season unofficially started for Chuck in mid-February when he went down to New Smyrna Speedway in Florida for four races in the #20 modified for car owner Jerry Gradl Jr. (see previous news article). However with the official season coming into full force back home in the Northeast, Chuck will find himself in the seat of three different rides this year. With 50 races on the schedule and a lineup that has him bouncing back and forth between New York and New England, the biggest race this year might be just getting to the tracks. Chuck is preparing to start his conquest for the 2004 Championship in the NASCAR Featherlite Modified Series. This will be the Hot Shoe's third year behind the wheel of the Bob Garbarino owned v4 Mystic Missile and he has made a name for himself in his first two seasons on the tour. Taking 3rd in the championship points standings in his debut year and following that with a runner-up finish in his sophomore year, Chuck has certainly got the message out that he is a contender. The media have selected Hossfeld as the favorite for the 2004 Championship this year and Chuck is prepared to prove them right. The NASCAR Featherlite Modified Series was scheduled to begin April 3, 2004 in Thompson, CT for the Icebreaker 150 at Thompson International Speedway. Due to heavy rains, the race has been postponed until April 18, 2004. As defending winner of last year's race, Chuck will have to wait a few weeks before he get back to work, however after a positive test session last week at Thompson, you can rest assured that Mystic River Marina team will be ready to compete when the race gets under way. Back again as Owner/Driver of his own #22 DeLange Racing Modified at his home track in Lancaster, NY, Chuck will attempt to bring home more victories for sponsors Dave and Laura DeLange. After an impressive season last year with three wins in the #22 DeLange Racing entry, look for the Hot Shoe to puts some good runs together in 2004. The #22 team will again head to Oswego in September for a bid to win the 54th Annual Race Of Champions 200. Additionally you'll see a rare New England appearance by the #22 team for the Race Of Champions event to be held July 10th, 2004 at Thompson International Speedway. Special thanks to Dave and Laura DeLange of DeLange Racing for returning as primary sponsor onboard the #22, and to all of our sponsors, in the hopes of making 2004 a successful year. Please visit our sponsors page and show your support for Chuck by supporting them. Hossfeld will also find himself behind the wheel of the #47 Wisk-Clorox SK Modified of car owners Mike Smeriglio, Joe Santoro and Rob Chowansky, competing full-time for the SK Modified Championship at Stafford Motor Speedway (see the press release). While new to the SK series, Chuck is excited about this new deal and hopes to quickly put the #47 Wisk-Clorox team into contention for the championship. We here at ChuckHossfeld.com would like to renew our commitment to you for the 2004 season. We intend to bring you more updates and quicker results as the upcoming season unfolds.
