July 21, 2004 NHIS Streak on the Mind of Hossfeld Buffalo, NY: New Hampshire International Speedway is one of Chuck Hossfeld's favorite racetracks. Partially because the Buffalo, NY driver has posted a pair of wins at the famed New Hampshire mile but mostly because the facility is a Modified racer's dream. High speeds, an effective draft, and the potential for unlimited lead changes all make for an exciting day in the open-wheel machines. Hossfeld and his fellow NASCAR Featherlite Modified Series competitors look forward to all the action when they compete in the Siemen's 100 on Friday afternoon at New Hampshire International Speedway. Hossfeld is looking to defend his race title as well. The weekend activities kick-off early for the Modified Tour with practice at 11:00 AM on Thursday, July 22. Bud Pole qualifying is scheduled for 2:45 PM on Thursday afternoon. The main event is scheduled to go green at approximately 4:30 PM on Friday, July 23, 2004. SPEED Channel will broadcast all the action of the Siemen's 100 on July 24 at 10:00 p.m. (Eastern Time). Hossfeld looks to keep his streak alive at Loudon in front of the TV cameras. Since joining the Modified Series in 2002, the young driver has posted at least one victory per season at New Hampshire International Speedway. And the wins have come in spectacular fashion. During the New England 100 in July 2003, Hossfeld took the white flag from third position but made a last lap surge passing both John Blewett III and Todd Szegedy to take the checkers. In 2002, in his "unofficial" rookie season, Hossfeld came out on the winning end of a multi-car fight to the finish with Mike Stefanik, Blewett III, and Ted Christopher in the New Hampshire 100 on September 14, 2002. Hossfeld hopes that the trip to New Hampshire International Speedway will bring the magic back for the Mystic Missile racing team who uncharacteristically has been struggling thus far this season. Friday is an important day for Hossfeld off the track as well. As a participant in the 12th Annual Governor's Breakfast, Hossfeld will get the opportunity to meet with children who are undergoing treatment at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. This weekend holds a lot of promise for Chuck Hossfeld and his Mystic Missile Racing Team. A repeat of previous triumphs at New Hampshire is just the way the team would like to begin the second half of the 2004 season. Hossfeld was not eligible for rookie status on the NASCAR Featherlite Modified Series having competed as a Rookie in the Craftsman Truck Series in 2001.
