August 20, 2004 The Hotshoe Hopes To Maintain Mr. Modified Title Buffalo, NY: Lancaster Raceway Park will see the return of Chuck "The Hotshoe" Hossfeld to his hometown track this Saturday August 21, 2004 for the 15th Annual Tommy Druar Memorial/Mr. Modified 50. Hossfeld has seen much success at Lancaster through the years, though it wasn't until the 2003 season that he won his first Mr. Modified event, and the prestigous title of Mr. Modified. A title he hopes to retain after Saturday as he seeks to defend last year's win. This historic race has seen nine different winners over the past 14 years, with 4 repeat winners. Along with Chuck, several additional past winners are expected to fill out the field including: Sege Fidanza, Billy Putney, Danny Knoll Jr., Tim Mangus, Jan Leaty, and Rich Littlefield. With a $5000 payout to the winner, it's sure to boast a large field of competitive modified drivers. It may be fitting that his first Mr. Modified win would come during 2003, as the season was full of many "first's". It was Chuck's first year as car owner of the #22 modified. It was the first year the #22 would fly the colors of primary sponsor DeLange Racing of Lockport, NY. It was also a year of renewed dedication by Hossfeld and the DeLange Racing Team to focus racing efforts on Lancaster Raceway Park, when Hossfeld wasn't running on the NASCAR Featherlite Modified Series tour, during which the team won 3 of 7 races at the 5/8 mile track including the first race of the season, the Queen City Clash. This weekend Chuck Hossfeld seeks his second win in the #22 DeLange Racing modified for the 2004 season. In addition he will try to become the 5th multiple, and first back-to-back winner of the Mr. Modified 50 race.
