The Hot Shoe Report

Catching Up

August 23, 2003

First of all I apologize that it has been months since I last constructed a Hot Shoe Report, but my worldy obligations in both politics and racing have kept me very busy... expect for the politics.

To start off, if you have the time and you'd like to read about two men whining and crying like little girls - please visit TedChristopher.com and check out his 8/20/03 TC Report.  I have never read such a one-sided bunch of bull**** in my entire life.  My five-year-old nephew asked me once why anyone would want to be called "Teddy the Tornado".  He said that tornado's only do damage.  I said, "Exactly Danny", what more could I say that isn't obvious to even a five-year-old?

Over the past couple of months I've been doing a lot of racing.  My Mystic Missile Team has been doing an outstanding job as always.  Five out of our last six races have been top-5 finishes including another win at Loudon and two Bud Pole Awards.  We are having a great season thus far with only two finishes outside the top ten.  There is one problem though - Todd Szegedy and the #50 team have been on a tear lately.  With six races left, we are preparing to turn up the heat on this championship race.

This week I will be racing my #22 DeLange Racing modified at Lancaster Motorsports Park on both Saturday and Monday (August 23, 2003 and August 25, 2003).  The #22 car has been on rails this year, and I'm hoping in the next Hot Shoe Report, that I'll be bragging about two more wins.

Finally I recently tried my hand in a dirt modified at Merittville Speedway.  It was a riot, Pete Bicknell supplied me with one of his backup cars and we had a decent finish in it.   Merrittville is a clean and professional facility with a great staff, and everyone there treated us very well.  Check out their site at www.merrittvillespeedway.com.   Racing on dirt was a great experience and I really enjoyed it.  I hope to be able to race a dirt modified again for two reasons - it was fun and I have much to learn.

So until next time take care, and I hope to see you at the track.
